Mizone sponsored Mahe Drysdale wins silver

09 Nov 2010

Mahe Drysdale won Silver in the men’s Single Sculls at the Rowing World Championships at Lake Karapiro on Saturday the 6th November.

The Mizone sponsored athlete fought a hard battle, but was unfortunately piped to the post by Czech Republic’s, Ondrej Synek.

In the semi-finals another tight race saw Drysdale beat Synek. This was the first time Synek had been beaten in 2010, so when it came to the finals Synek had a point to prove and crossed the line two seconds before Drysdale.

Drysdale was a four time defending world rowing champion going in to the race and this was his seventh medal he has won in this event after competing at the last 10 world championships.

A back injury earlier in the year, hindered the 31-year-olds training schedule however he pushed through at the World Championships and managed to get the impressive second place medal.

The world champion has been proudly sponsored by Mizone for many years now and a bottle of Mizone is never far away when he is training.
